B2B buyers <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">increasingly believe that making purchases for work should be just as easy as making purchases for themselves. So they\u2019re turning to marketplaces for the optimised, secure, friction-free consumer experience they\u2019re used to.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is driving this growth?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Evolving consumer behaviour. B2B buyers are purchasing more like B2C consumers, which <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">means the path to discovery and purchase is becoming more diverse. In the past, a buyer just <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">called their sales rep or logged into a proprietary portal. Now they can search Google, browse <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon, look on manufacturer sites, or search in specialty marketplaces. While some larger <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marketplaces focus on B2B, such as Amazon Business, there are more B2B sites opening up <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their own marketplaces to expand selection and offer complementary products and services.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What typical challenges do B2B companies face when implementing marketplace initiatives?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, taking a holistic approach to your marketplace efforts. In the early days of marketplaces <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and channel management, it was all about connections, product data, inventory quantities, and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">orders. But simple channel\u00a0 management isn\u2019t enough for brands that want to stand out. Sellers <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must have centralized strategies for repricing, product data optimization and syndication,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">advertising, analytics, and connections to fulfilment and shipping partners.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thinking holistically about your marketplace strategy also leads to a more basic challenge: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deciding the best marketplaces for your products. It\u2019s easy to say that you want to list on 50 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">marketplaces, but each comes at a cost \u2014 whether it\u2019s warehouse fees, advertising costs, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shipping products to a new country, and many other considerations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What strategies or technologies will help them overcome these challenges?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Successful companies provide great experiences for today\u2019s consumers.
